Executive Director, AdvaMedDx
Susan Van Meter is executive director of AdvaMedDx, the world’s largest trade association representing medical diagnostics manufacturers. AdvaMedDx advocates for the power of innovative medical diagnostic tests and technologies that facilitate evidence-based medicine, enable early detection of disease, enhance patient health, and advance public health in the United States and around the world. AdvaMedDx is a division of AdvaMed (the Advanced Medical Technology Association), the world’s largest medical technology association, with over 350 member companies that develop medical devices, diagnostic tools, and health information systems.
Ms. Van Meter joined AdvaMedDx as executive director in January 2018, having previously led the Washington Office of the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) since 2000, representing New York’s hospitals and health systems in federal legislative and regulatory matters. Additionally, Ms. Van Meter served as HANYS’ divisional head of Health Information Technology. Before joining HANYS, she held a position in the Office of Legislation of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Through these roles, Ms. Van Meter brings a wealth of legislative and health care advocacy expertise and strong working relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
Ms. Van Meter has an undergraduate degree in Political Science and French from Villanova University and an MA in Political Science from Boston University.
