Policy Agenda

AdvaMed’s Policy Agenda is based upon four pillars and facilitated by AdvaMed Staff:

  1. Technology and Regulatory- Strives to improve the regulatory environment for member companies including such efforts as 510(k) reform, reauthorization of Medical Device User Fee Act (MDUFA), postmarket surveillance and enforcement, and global harmization.
  2. Payment and Health Care Delivery- Influences health care delivery and reimbursement policies to facilitate access to medical products and payment supporting innovation and value creation.
  3. Global Strategy and Analysis- Focuses on health care, trade, and medical technology regulatory and reimbursement issues in leading and key emerging world markets, and through international organizations.
  4. Legal and Compliance- Advocates for a predictable legal environment and focuses on areas such as Physician Payments Sunshine, Intellectual Property, Ethics and Compliance, Vendor Access, and the Medical Device Tax.

The General Counsel’s Office also oversees certification to the AdvaMed Code of Ethics, which clarifies and distinguishes appropriate and inappropriate activity between health care professionals and MedTech company representatives.
