AdvaMed Named a Top Industry Group in APCO Worldwide “TradeMarks” Study Released Today
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) was named one of the top trade organizations in Washington, D.C., according to the latest annual TradeMarks study released by APCO Worldwide, a leading international advocacy and communications consulting firm. The report found AdvaMed leading the pack in three of its 15 categories: media relations, information resource, and member representation.
“AdvaMed is focused on working across both sides of the aisle in Congress and with Administrations of both parties to advance the needs of the medtech industry and the patients our companies serve,” said AdvaMed president and CEO Scott Whitaker. “Every member of the AdvaMed team is committed to providing our member companies and industry with the highest level of support as they navigate state, local, federal and global regulation, and it is this hard work that APCO has recognized in this report the past several years.”
AdvaMed was one of only nine associations ranked at the top of at least one of those 15 performance characteristics.
The Trademarks study, which measures the influence and efficacy of advocacy associations in the nation’s capital, was based on a survey of 322 policy leaders in Washington, including congressional staff, executive branch officials and private sector executives. Respondents were asked to assess the performance of 50 trade associations based on 15 characteristics that make an organization an effective public policy advocate as judged by its key stakeholders. APCO did not release a 2020 study, but in 2019, AdvaMed was recognized as a leading trade group as well.
