AdvaMed’s Annual Medtech Conference Will Proceed with In-Person, Virtual Events
WASHINGTON, D.C. – AdvaMed, the world’s largest medical technology trade association, today confirmed that its annual event, “The Medtech Conference,” will proceed as a hybrid event, offering attendees virtual and in-person opportunities. The conference, which will take place from September 27-30 with in-person events held in Washington, D.C., on Monday, September 27, and in Minneapolis, Minn., on Wednesday, September 29, features a curated selection of panels, interviews and keynote sessions from leaders across the medical technology industry.
“We’re eager after such a long break from getting together in person to be able to do so again at The Medtech Conference this year. But doing so safely and responsibly is our No. 1 priority, which is why, following the guidance of public health experts, we’re implementing a vaccine and/or proof of a negative Covid-19 test so that participants and guests who choose to join us in person can do so with confidence,” said Scott Whitaker, President and CEO of AdvaMed. “Our annual conference is a tremendous opportunity for medtech innovators and leaders to learn and grow and connect in ways they simply can’t by phone or email or even Zoom, so we’re excited to offer those who are vaccinated and Covid-free the opportunity to do so. And we’re glad that our virtual platform offers those who are unable to be there to benefit from the incredible opportunities our Conference offers to help them better serve their patients.”
As aspects of the program will be in-person, AdvaMed has implemented an enhanced set of safety protocols to ensure the conference aligns with evolving health guidelines.
THE FOLLOWING COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS AND PROTOCOL WILL BE IN PLACE FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL PARTICIPANTS AND GUESTS:
1. A COVID-19 vaccination requirement or proof of negative test 72 hours prior to traveling
2. Masking requirements aligning with local/state mandates
3. Increased hand sanitization stations and frequent cleaning of the event space between sessions.
AdvaMed strongly encourages all attendees and staff to adhere to the applicable regulations and make responsible choices about travel and in-person participation.
All content from AdvaMed’s in-person program will be livestreamed for remote participants, and all participants attending in-person events will also have full access to the virtual platform. Conference programming sessions cover a range of topics designed to include every facet of the medical technology ecosystem, including early-stage investment; regulatory, reimbursement, and legal/compliance issues; digital health, AI, and cybersecurity issues; and global market access issues, with concentrations on Europe, China, Brazil, and more. Conference networking and partnering sessions allow attendees to spark collaboration among and between business development professionals, investors, policymakers, members of the media, legal experts, consultants, distributors, manufacturers, and other important stakeholders. Also returning to The Medtech Conference this year is The Medtech Innovator Showcase and Finals Competition.
