Medtech Congratulates Adam Boehler on Being Named HHS Senior Advisor for Value-Based Transformation and Innovation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) issued the following statement from President and CEO Scott Whitaker on the appointment of Adam Boehler as Senior Advisor for Value-Based Transformation and Innovation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS):

In this important new position, Boehler will be doing invaluable work with a host of health care stakeholders implementing polices to transition the nation’s health care system from a fee-for-service model to one that better prioritizes value, quality and efficiency in patient care.

Working with government and other stakeholders, we are offering solutions to facilitate this transition, helping patients live longer, healthier lives while bending the cost curve. However, there are many challenges to achieving this goal, from accurately assessing the value medical devices and diagnostics bring to an episode of care, to modernizing the federal Anti-Kickback Statute and the Stark Law.
