Approaches to Increasing Diversity in Clinical Research and Addressing Health Inequities

AdvaMed partnered with Meharry Medical College on a workshop series convened in spring of 2021 focusing on increasing diversity in clinical trials. The workshops assembled a diverse group of interested stakeholders to discuss methods for achieving diversity in clinical research. Based on insights from these workshops, this document outlines potential considerations and possible approaches to help research sponsors improve inclusion of under-represented groups in clinical research. We hope it will empower individuals within our member companies to inspire and promote changes that will enable commitment to company missions with the goal of eliminating racial health disparities.
