Use Case: Application of the Comprehensive Assessment of the Value of Diagnostic Technologies Framework to Abbott’s Vysis ALK Break Apart FISH Probe Kit Test

In response to the growing need to demonstrate how medical technologies fit into the emerging value-based paradigm for providers, payers, and patients, AdvaMed launched a Strategic Value Initiative to develop an approach to value assessment for medical technologies that can be used by Medical technology companies as well as by health systems, payers, and other stakeholders.

This use case demonstrates the value of Abbott’s Vysis ALK Break Apart FISH Probe Kit across all of the identified value drivers and for a range of stakeholders. The Vysis ALK Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is a qualitative DNA-based test intended to aid in the identification of patients eligible for treatment with Xalkori® (crizotinib).
